My MBP doesnt know how to talk to my iPhone6S+……>_<

i read and read again every single words from both the iOS guide and the MAC guide at least twice, none of them mentioned in what way my MBP gonna communicate through to my iPhone6s+, both guides were just saying connection both laptop and iOS device with the same WIFI network, then they would magically connect to each other and they would start scanning for dup. photos on both devices……
